Under the leadership of the third International President, Joanna Houston Ransom, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated expanded by chartering the first undergraduate chapter south of the Mason-Dixon line at Wiley College in Marshall, Texas, in 1923. It was name Theta Chapter served as the feeder for graduate chapters in Texas and Louisiana for many years. It was the first black sorority to organize in Texas on a college campus. Alpha Delta Zeta Chapter sponsored two undergraduate chapters:
